Dear Friends,
Well we are coming to an end of a wonderful and productive year with LCI. I am constantly blown away of how faithful the Lord has been to allow us to be used around the world and to be able to partner with so many wonderful organizations around the world. As I am writing this news letter I am observing one of the teachers here at Yuvalok Foundation in India teach three of the boys that are apart of National Child Labor Project to do math. These kids would be working still and never have the opportunity to learn how to read or just better their life for the future if Yuvalok Foundation was not here. That is why we do this work to support organizations like this that give people hope for there future here on earth and after they leave this earth. I am truly a blessed man to be able have a little part in what God is doing around the world and to bring volunteers from all over the US to be a part of this work. Thank you so much for your support through prayers and donations to help keep us going! We would love to have you go on one of our trips or just continue to pray for this work. Lets go forth and Bring Life to the Nations!
Los Angeles Outreach
This last September 3rd in partnership with Metro Calvary Chapel and Wesley United Methodist Church in South Central Los Angeles, worked together to support the Rackestraw Community Center in an outreach to the community. We cooked for around 400 people handed out bags of food had a mini carnival for the children. And shared with the community all of the programs Rackestraw has to offer the community. It was a wonderful time to partner with other churches here in our own backyard and serve those in need.
Uganda
This last September 19th-October 3rd we took a small team to work with my friends Herb and Ellen Cook of Touch the World ministries in Uganda. It was an amazing and productive trip. We worked with a variety of ministries from hospital visitations, visiting college students, juvenile hall ministry, talking with people on the streets; we also visited refugee camps in Northern Uganda and worked also with Sudanese Refugees in one-day church leadership seminar. We are looking to possibly have two trips next year to this area because of the need and the opportunity to plug more volunteers into this work in Uganda.
India
As I write this newsletter I am still in India working with my friends at Yuvalok Foundation. It has been a great trip plugging the team into the various ministries here at Yuvalok. One of the girls on the team is a nurse so she has been doing health classes with the teachers, students and parents. Others have been helping the teachers with tutoring some of the students with their reading skills, English classes and their computer programs. Very practical things that are making a differents in peoples lives.
Mississippi
Since the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, we were able to respond in helping through our contact in Mendenhall Mississippi. We have responded with three different teams going out to meet specific needs. The first team drove out with a truck and the ability to cook for those in need. They were first able to come to the aid of a Pastor and his family who was from Los Angeles but were stuck in Louisiana and could not get back home. The team was able to give them a ride to Jackson, Mississippi and buy tickets so the y could fly home. The team also ended up working down in Gulfport feeding many needed meals to people. The second trip focused on working with Mendenhall Ministries in helping to rebuild some homes that would be for families that lost everything. The third trip will be geared in following up and continuing helping to rebuild homes for misplaced families.
Mexico
Our final trip of 2005 will be December 2nd-4th working with Baja Vision at the City of Angels orphanage. We started our year with Mexico and we will finish there. I am excited to see what God has for us there.
God Bless
